Our Dramatic-Elements area features Sluglines & connected elements of formatting in a Creative-Producer's approach. Right now the focus is on film/Video - it will be expanding into our other formats as the semester advances, or the month simply flies by.
The idea behind our approach to writing for film is based on an understanding that this is an art form/ business/ craft that encourages group work, and welcomes input from all crafts. And it's pragmatic - we write so it may be produced.
The more a writer knows about the actual process of producing a dramas & comedies, the better she'll get.
Writers also direct & produce & act & do a bunch of other related activities...

This St. John's based free software has a solid formatting ability, and excellent features and apps for the tablet. They do have many bells & whistles for a charge, but still provide a Free approach and features accessible for all.
Trelby
...is a simple and easy to use dedicated Word Processor. It also converts script from a number of other file formats, and can save in the Final Draft format as well. Works on Windows and Ubuntu.
Cloud based & Free Software for Scripts. WriterDuet features real-time collaboration, online/offline writing, and infinite revision tracking. It works really well.

I'll be adding various FREE trials, and available working software. We'll start with a useful Free Trial... which goes on. It allows us to write 15 pages of script & prints a watermark - but it's a start. And if you really like it, they'll sell a copy.
